Sisseton School District families impacted by the federal government shutdown

Some federal employees affected by the government shutdown may be furloughed or working without pay.  The Sisseton School District will accept applications from affected households based on their current income rather than annual income. 

Since there is uncertainty for affected households and when they will receive their next paycheck, affected federal employees may submit a new free and reduced-price meal application that excludes (does not include) the affected federal employee’s normal income. All other household income must be included on the application.

Once the shutdown ends, these families are encouraged to terminate their free or reduced-price meal benefits.

Applications may be dropped off at the Sisseton School District business office from 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
