Westside Message or Pick up Procedures
If someone other than a parent/guardian will be picking up a child, please call the office and give permission for the School to release the child to the individual.
PLEASE send a note with your child or call the school office by 2:30 pm when leaving messages about where your child is to go after school.
December & January Events
Mon. Nov. 27th – Dec. 20th Christmas Gift Card Tree Raffle Tickets for sale in the Office 1 for $1 or 6 for $5.
Mon. Nov. 27th – Dec. 22nd American Cancer Society Penny Drive- students can bring in Pennies or any amount of change or cash as a donation to their classrooms donation jars. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
Tues. Dec. 5th – 5th Grade Night in the Classroom- Parents/Guardians invited to come see the students Native American Projects and reports 4:30-6:00.
Thurs. Dec. 7th - 3rd – 5th Grade Christmas Concert. Students should arrive no later than 6:40. Concert starts a 7:00pm.
Mon. Dec. 11th – Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Christmas Concert. Students should arrive no later than 6:40. Concert starts at 7:00pm.
Mon. Dec. 18th – Christmas Door Contest Judging 1:00-3:00pm. The community is invited to walk around and view the doors and judge on their favorite. Refreshments will be available.
Christmas / New Year’s Vacation (NO SCHOOL)- Dec. 25th – January 3rd 2018
Classes resume on Thursday, January 4th, 2018.

We have had
requests for the following information to be sent out……
1. Cellphone Policy -It is school policy for all cell
phones to be turned in to the office to be held until the end of the school
day. The student may pick up the cell phone after dismissal. If a student is
caught with a phone during class, the phone will be turned in to the office
until a parent or guardian can come to the school to pick up the cell phone.
2. Emergency Phone Calls- Students must obtain permission
from office staff before using the phone. Students will be called out of class only for emergency calls.
Students who misuse this privilege will not be allowed to use the telephone.
The phone is not to be used to change locations as to where the student is
3. 3. Make sure your child has warm clothes
to wear for recess. (Winter Coats, Hats,
Gloves, and Snow Pants and Boots)
4. 4. Recess Temperatures- Recess is held
as long as the temperature and/or wind chill is ABOVE (0) zero degrees even if
only for a few minutes for some fresh air. If the temperature alone or with the
wind chill the temperature is below (0)
zero, students will not go outside for recess but do other activities in

phone numbers to contact you in case of School closing or cancelling due to
weather. You are able to make updates through your Parent Portal Access. If you
have not signed up for access or cannot remember how to get in, please contact

unexpectedly, does your child know where
to go after school?
7. 7.With the Security Door System and the
winter weather, we ask that you look at
the camera on the left wall and speak clearly. We don’t want to keep you
outside any longer than necessary, but also need to keep the building safe. If
you are bundled up with your head/face covered and we don’t recognize you, you
won’t be allowed to enter.
8. 8.When sending others to the school to
pick up your child, please call before 2:30 giving us
permission to release your child and the name of the person coming.
