Congratulations to our first semester story time readers. Each morning after announcements a story was read for all to listen together before morning meeting. Readers: Left to right Emily Mendez Bustamante, Gerardo Ortiz Diaz, Kylie Ziemer, Taya Sandal, Arabella Oftana, Ree Stickland, Ensley Iliff, O’zanzan Pratt. We also celebrated and recognized November Westside WAVE staff and students nominated by staff for their daily attributes of well prepared, always safe, value respect and eager to learn. Mrs. Veflin, Mrs, Hortness, Carlton Crawford Jr., Ree Stickland, Laila Kongi, Legna Bryant, Connor Funmaker, Braely Shepherd, Kysa Block, Valeria Reyes Bermudas. We are thankful for each of you as your daily positive choices make a difference for you, our school and community now and for the future.

It was a BIG day at school yesterday! Pajamas, presents, parties, parent volunteers for the parties (thank you), volunteer readers, sing-a-long, treats for days, hot cocoa, and....elf Kallyn was found🎄 Merry Christmas to all! We will see you back at school January 5, 2026.

It is the most wonderful time of year! We have collected quite a few lost and found items this semester. If any of the item(s) belong to you please stop in today to take home before winter break.

Due to predicted weather conditions, the Sisseton School District is closed today, December 18, 2025. All school activities are cancelled/postponed.

Winter Break is December 22 - January 2. PD on January 2.
School will resume on Monday, January 5.

Outstanding Performance Day! Thank you to all that made this day possible. Our students sang and narrated beautifully! Miss Z - it is evident in the students you have relationship with them and your love for music shines through each one. Sisseton School District (administration, staff, bus dept, janitors) all stepped in and up for this day to occur and we thank each department that joined us today. Westside students and staff are grateful each day as we get to be Well Prepared, Always Safe, Value Respect, Eager to Learn! -Preschool Art and delivered treats to all staff -Mrs. Keough - Instructional - Literacy Coach/Intervention - progress monitors our students each week -Positive Principal Calls Home- 4th Graders with zero office referrals their career at Westside: Rebekah White, Hanna Vega Bojorquez, Valeria Reyes Bermudez, Wendy Pantuj Mejia, -Libray Class -Science (STEAM) outdoors this week -2nd grade instruction time together - Miss Pistorius and Emily B 'twinning' -Brenda Bartz keeps our school clean and sparking!
