4th Grade visit to SWO Tribal Headquarters February 7, 2024. Thank you to Dr. Johnson and all that made this opportunity possible for our students.
4th Grade visited SWO Tribal Headquarters Wednesday, February 7. The students were greeted by Angeline Wanna, Arvella Wanna and Alayah LaFromboise. Angeline Wanna shared an excellent presentation from the archives room. Alayah and Arvella gave a tour of the building for the students and also taught the students color words in Dakota through a game opportunity. The students were also provided with a pizza lunch from the Tribal Education Department. Thank you to all that made this possible and especially to Dr. Johnson for coordinating this opportunity for our students. We look forward to our March visit with the second group of 4th Graders.

It is National School Counselor Week! Student Council and Paraprofessional Shelly Peterson prepared rootbeer floats to 'root' for Counselor Ziemer today! 4th Grade enjoyed a special treat with our counselor today! We are all thankful for Counselor Ziemer! She takes time and delicate care for each one at Westside and spreads kindness like confetti! Thank you Counselor Ziemer!
The Sisseton School District Native American Parent Committee meeting will be held Wednesday, February 21, from 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. in the Sisseton HS/MS Multipurpose Room.
Sisseton Schools will start at 10 o'clock on Wednesday, February 7. Buses will run where able. Breakfast will not be served.

4th Grade - TLC Weekly Community Visit
Across grade levels team rooms Mrs. Joan (Jr. Kgn/Kgn) and Mrs. Princess (2nd Grade) joined together for Morning Meeting Friday, February 2nd. The goal for their learning time was to show team work, responsibility and improve social skills.
Celebrations this week at Westside:
-Mrs. Holler's class had a pizza party for 20 Days in School on time - all day!
-Linda Quade is teaching our learners on Fridays - Healthy Living - Organwise Guy
-Student Council met to assist with decisions and share student input for Conferences/Read Across America Week and State Assessment plans
-Students are learning and growing intentionally each day with their teachers!
